This is what I read-
----------------------------------------------------
Pantothenic Acid (B5) is the only supplement to be proven effective against breakouts in medical studies. The body uses B5, as well as two other nutrients your body can produce on its own, to create Coenzyme-A. Coenzyme-A has the ability to break down the skin oil and allow it to flow freely without clogging pores or causing skin infections. Thin skin oil is essential for clear skin.
B5 helps break metabolize, or break down, fats & toxins and flush them from your system while influencing the adrenal cortex to stabilize the output of androgens. Androgens are hormones that control sebaceous gland secretion and normal keratin production.
------------------------------------------------
Ok, now I know Coenzyme-A is vital for production of cellular energy, fatty acid metabolism, proper detoxification, adrenal & sex hormone production, formation of healthy cartilage and connective tissue, stregthening immune system through healthy blood cell development.. they said B5 along with two other things create the Coenzyme-A. Now I DO have coenzyme-A at home that I haven't used yet. What if I just take that??? WIll it help the same? Or what will be the difference??
Thanks

poreoilyme 06-20-2003, 06:23 PM Really! I wondered about that myself. Anyone have any ideas on this?
legsarebad 06-20-2003, 06:57 PM Well, I have a question, as well. I take a multi-vitamin every day. It says it contains 10 mg of Pantothenic Acid, which is B5. 10 mg is enough, right?
My face has been oily for a while, even while on these vitamins. I ordered the topical cream today. I'm beginning to wonder, though....if the multi-vitamin with that much B5 isn't helping with my skin, will anything EVER help?
linnybee428 06-20-2003, 07:07 PM The amount many people use is 10 grams, not milligrams. So you would have to take about 1000 of these vitamins to get that effect. If you want to try the B5 regimen, go out and buy a big bottle of B5 capsules, it's almost impossible to get enough from your multivitamin.
